The University of Michigan Powerlifting club is teaming up with Calloso Powerlifting to bring you the very first annual Wolverine Classic!
All proceeds from this fundraising event will help with expenses for UMPL athletes competing at 2023 Collegiate Nationals in Arlington, Texas.

This meet is a Collegiate Invitational. 15 spots will be offered to collegiate powerlifting teams in Michigan, and 10 spots will be reserved for UMPL athletes. The remaining 20 spots will be open for registration to any USA Powerlifting member that successfully registers before the cap of 45 is reached.

All entries are non-refundable. There are no exceptions. Meet credits cannot be used to register for this meet and entries cannot be transferred to or from other Calloso Powerlifting meets.

SPECTATOR & COACH PASSES: Admission for spectators is $10. Coach passes are $20 and allow access into the warm-up area with the lifters. Passes can be purchased ahead of time online via the link below. Tickets are non-refundable.

This meet can be used as a qualifier for any USA Powerlifting Nationals. There are no qualifying requirements to compete in this event. Any USA Powerlifting Member can compete in this event. To qualify for Nationals, you must achieve the qualifying total for your weight class and division. Visit National Qualifying Totals for more information.

SCHEDULE:
6:30am – Doors open for athletes to check-in, submit rack heights, & complete equipment check
7:00am â€“ Weigh-In by order of lot number
8:15am â€“ Compulsory Rules Meeting in the gymnasium
8:30am â€“ Weigh-in, equipment check, and rack heights close
9:00am â€“ Lifting Begins
3:30pm – Award Ceremony
Lifters must obtain permission from the meet director if they wish to leave before the awards ceremony to ensure they are not chosen for drug testing.

DIVISIONS: The age divisions offered for this meet will be Youth (8-13), Teen (14-19), Junior (20-23), Open, and Masters (40+) divisions. Lifters are able to enter more than one division (i.e., Junior and Open). Registering in the Open class is recommended for those who want tougher competition.

REGISTRATION: All participants must register online via the link at the bottom of the page. Registrants must have a valid USA Powerlifting Membership. Membership application can be found here.
First Division + T-shirt: $120
Additional Divisions: $25

EVENTS: Only the 3-Lift (Full Power) division will be available. You may lift in either the raw, raw with wraps, or equipped (single-ply) divisions. All participants are required to wear a singlet, t-shirt, shoes, and long socks for deadlift. The raw division also allows for the use of a belt, wrist wraps, and knee sleeves. The Raw with Wraps division allows all of this plus knee wraps. The equipped division allows for all of this and the use of supportive squat and deadlift suits and supportive bench shirts.

TECHNICAL RULES: This meet will follow the technical rules found in the USA Powerlifting rulebook. You can find the rulebook here. There will be a minimum of 10% of participants will be drug tested via urinalysis. AWARDS: Medals will be given to 1st through 3rd place in each weight class in each division. There will also be best lifter awards based on DOTS points. Dependent on entries, there may possibly be team awards as well!!
